Something New on the Farm – Di’s Digital Designs Challenge Blog
It’s time for a fresh new challenge over at Di’s Digital Designs Challenge Blog, and this time we’re celebrating “Something New!” Whether it’s a new technique, a never-before-used product, or even a fresh image from Di’s shop, the possibilities are wide open—and I had so much fun exploring them!
For my Design Team project, I decided to go all in and try not one, not two, but three “new” things on my card:
🧑🌾 First, I used one of Di’s adorable new boy images from her Etsy shop:
“Cute and Cuddly on the Farm.”
This little guy with his animal friends completely stole my heart! The image is sweet, wholesome, and perfect for a farm-themed card.
🚜 Second, I finally pulled out a Barn Builder Die I grabbed on clearance from Stamp Anything this past winter. This was its first time out of the package, and I have to say—what a fun piece! The barn doors open to reveal a sentiment inside, giving the card an interactive surprise. I added a “farm-ish” greeting to complete the scene inside the barn.
🌾 Third, I tried a new-to-me background technique: building a full scene with layered Distress Ink blending and stenciling. While I’ve used Distress Inks in the past, this is my first time using them to create a multi-layered background scene. I love how it turned out—it gave the whole card a cohesive and playful farmyard feel.
I absolutely loved how this card came together. It’s always satisfying when you can combine new tools and techniques in a way that just clicks, and the recipient was delighted with it too—which is the best feeling of all!
If you’ve got some “new” goodies in your stash you’ve been meaning to try, now’s the perfect time. Come join us over at the Di’s Digi Designs Challenge Blog and show us what you’ve got!
Until next time, happy crafting! 🐓🌻
