🎄 Masculine Christmas Slimline Card | My Time To Craft Christmas DT Project 🎄

 Hi crafty friends!

It’s time for another challenge over at the My Time To Craft Christmas Challenge Blog, and we’re continuing our fun series of exploring different techniques and styles. This round, the challenge is all about Masculine or Steampunk Christmas Cards—and I had such a great time putting together a card that leans into the masculine side with a touch of humor and warmth!

🛠️ My Take on the Challenge

For my Design Team make, I created a horizontal layered slimline card—a favorite format of mine when I want to add multiple design elements without it feeling crowded. I was especially excited to break in some new Anna Griffin Slimline Dies I recently picked up, along with my brand-new Anna Griffin Empress Automatic Die Cut Machine from HSN.

And let me tell you—game changer!
If you’ve been debating investing in an automatic die cutting machine, I say go for it. The plates glide through effortlessly, the pressure is consistent, and my shoulder is very grateful. Plus, the included magnetic mat keeps all those delicate dies in place—no more slipping mid-cut or wasting precious paper. Total win.

🌲 The Card Details

To keep things masculine, I layered up the die cuts using a mix of wood grain patterned papers, along with some metallic foils and glitter accents for a festive but rugged feel. Wood tones and metallics just scream “guy card” to me—don’t you agree?

For the main image, I used a super fun Santa-in-a-recliner stamp from La-La Land Crafts—he’s got a remote in hand and looks completely relaxed. It added just the right touch of humor while still feeling Christmassy.

To complete the design:

  • I added a "To a Great Guy" sentiment from Made to Surprise in bold block lettering embossed in green tinsel.

  • I also included a cute little signpost element from the same brand that reads “Don’t open until Dec. 25th.”

  • And for a little extra hardware vibe, I popped in eyelets at the top corners of the card base—just a subtle but fitting finishing touch.

🎁 Final Thoughts

This card came together just as I hoped—masculine, fun, festive, and unique. I already know exactly who I’ll be giving it to this Christmas, and I can’t wait to see his reaction!

If you're looking for a way to craft a holiday card with a more masculine or non-traditional twist, I highly recommend trying a horizontal slimline layout and playing with textures like wood grain, foil, and bold fonts. And don't forget to check out what the rest of the My Time To Craft Christmas DT has made for even more inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy crafting! 🎅🪵✨
