Shining Bright for the Holidays – My Time to Craft Christmas Challenge

Hi crafty friends!

It’s time for a new challenge over at the My Time to Craft Christmas Challenge Blog, and this round we were asked to include foil in our projects. I love a good excuse to add some shimmer and shine, especially to a holiday card — so I went all in!

For this challenge, I created a vertical slimline card (one of my favorite formats to work with!) and incorporated foil in a subtle but eye-catching way. I used foil as the mat layer, and then for the top layer, I die-cut a panel filled with scattered stars, letting the foil peek through each little star-shaped opening. I love how this adds a festive twinkle effect — it’s like the card is lit from within!

To complete the card, I used the absolutely adorable "Believe in Christmas" image from Di’s Digital Designs. Isn’t it the sweetest? I colored it up to coordinate with the soft shimmer of the foil, and I think it adds such warmth and charm to the overall design.

This was such a fun card to put together, and the foil element really adds that extra holiday magic. Be sure to pop over to the My Time to Craft Christmas blog to see what the rest of the design team has made — so many beautiful ideas for bringing foil into your festive creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by — let me know in the comments if you’ve been using foil in your Christmas cards this year!

Crafty hugs,
Miss Mudge✨🎄
