A Floral Christmas Surprise – Pop-Up Vase Card for My Time To Craft Christmas

It’s time for a brand new challenge over at My Time To Craft Christmas, and this week we were asked to feature flowers on our cards. What better way to combine florals and festive cheer than with some beautiful poinsettias?

I've had a pop-up vase card tutorial from Mixed Up Craft bookmarked for ages, just waiting for the right moment to give it a try—and this was it! I’m so glad I finally took the plunge, because this card turned out to be such a joy to create.

A Peek From the Outside

For the card front, I decided to add a window cut-out, offering a little sneak peek at the floral surprise waiting inside. I love the way it teases what’s to come—it’s like opening a Christmas gift and seeing just a little hint of what’s inside the wrapping!

The Star of the Show: The Inside

Open the card and you’ll find the magic—a pop-up vase filled with handmade poinsettias, crafted with love and care. I used a variety of festive papers and added detail to each bloom to make them come alive. The pop-up mechanism from Mixed Up Craft's tutorial worked perfectly and adds such a sweet, interactive element to the card.

There’s something so satisfying about a card that opens up to reveal a little extra surprise, and I think this one captures the holiday spirit perfectly. The poinsettias feel just right for the challenge, and the vase design adds a touch of elegance and fun.

Final Thoughts

This card was a bit more involved than my usual makes, but so worth the effort. It’s always fun to try a new fold or technique, and this one really delivered. I’ll definitely be making more pop-up vase cards in the future—maybe even with different seasonal themes!

I hope you’ll pop over to My Time To Craft Christmas and see what the rest of the team has created. And if you’re feeling inspired, join us and show off your own floral Christmas card!

Until next time, happy crafting!
