Exciting First Design Team Post: My Wiper Pop-Up Card for Ally's Angels Challenge #91!

Hello, crafty friends!

I'm absolutely thrilled to share with you my very first project as a Design Team member for the Ally's Angels Challenge Blog! To kick off this exciting new chapter, I’m joining in for Challenge #91, which, as always, is an Anything Goes theme. I can't tell you how excited I am to be part of such a wonderful team and community! 🌟

For my first card, I decided to go all out with a fun and interactive 6x6 Wiper Pop-Up Card that I know will definitely put a smile on the face of anyone who receives it. With this card, I wanted to combine nature and humor with a bit of charm—because what could be better than a pop-up pheasant that surprises you when you open the card?

Card Details:

The Design

I chose to feature a majestic buck deer on the front of the card, which works so beautifully with the nature-inspired papers from Craft Consortium. The soft, earthy tones set a calming yet striking vibe, which I think is perfect for a masculine birthday card.

But wait—there’s more! When you open the card, a cute pheasant pops up from behind, adding a delightful surprise to the design. I used a die from Made to Surprise to create the wiper mechanism, which made the process super fun and easy. The pop-up action adds a whole new level of charm and interaction to the card, making it perfect for someone who enjoys a bit of surprise and whimsy along with their birthday wishes.

Crafting Tips

  • When creating a pop-up card like this, be sure to use sturdy cardstock for the base, as the mechanism needs to hold up well.
  • The Craft Consortium wildlife stamps were a joy to color! I used prismacolor pencils to bring out the rich textures in the buck and pheasant.
  • The die set from Made to Surprise  was a dream to work with—if you're new to interactive cards, this is a great die to get started with because the instructions are clear, and the result is always impressive.
  • I love adding little gems as finishing touches. The sparkle of the gems contrasts beautifully with the natural theme of the card.

The Sentiment

Now, let’s talk about the sentiment—this one is so fun! The stamp from Penny Black reads, “Happy Birthday, you're older than yesterday but younger than today.” It's the perfect way to add a little humor to a masculine card. Plus, it’s one of those lines that makes you chuckle without being too cheeky or over-the-top. A little laugh on your birthday never hurts, right?

Why You Should Join the Challenge

If you haven’t yet, I highly encourage you to join in on the Ally's Angels Challenge #91! The theme is always Anything Goes, which means you can get super creative and share any project you’ve made. It’s a great way to get inspired, see what other crafters are creating, and of course, have fun while you’re at it. Plus, you could even win some amazing prizes!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my first DT card as much as I enjoyed creating it. If you have any questions about how to make a wiper pop-up card or need tips on any of the supplies I used, feel free to drop me a comment below! I’d love to help.
