You Light Up My Life – A Simple Christmas Lights Stenciled Card
Hey there, crafty friends!
It’s time for a new challenge over at Christmas [or not] BINGO Challenge. Here is the bingo choice board for this month:
I chose column N using Christmas, Free, and Masking & Stenciling.
For my Design Team project, I decided to go for a clean and simple DL-sized card featuring a stenciled string of Christmas lights. I’ve been wanting to experiment more with mixed media stenciling, and this card gave me the perfect opportunity!
To create the layered look of the Christmas light strand, I used a variety of products:
For the bulbs and the string, I used classic ink blending.
For the metal bulb holders, I added texture with Expanding Mousse — I love the subtle dimension it gives!
And to finish off the strand, I used white paint to create the fine highlight line running across the bulbs, giving them that glassy, glowing look.
At the bottom of the card, I added a sweet stamped sentiment: “You light up my life.” π‘ It ties in beautifully with the theme and adds a touch of warmth to the otherwise simple design.
Even though this card was a bit more minimal than my usual projects, I really enjoyed experimenting with different stencil mediums — it’s amazing how much texture and interest you can add with just a few thoughtful touches!
Be sure to check out all the festive inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and join in the fun over at Christmas [or not] BINGO Challenge for our “challenge.
Until next time,
Keep crafting and light up someone’s day! ✨ππ‘
