Guest Designing for My Heart’s Quest – Shaped Cards Challenge 🍂
I’m so excited to share something a little different with you today! I was invited to be a Guest Designer for the My Heart’s Quest Shaped Cards Challenge Blog this month. One of their Design Team members is unable to feature cards for the next couple of months, so I was asked to help fill in — and of course, I said yes!
The challenges at My Heart’s Quest are always “Anything Goes – Shaped Cards,” which is such a fun theme because it really lets your creativity shine. Since it’s November, I decided to go with a fall-themed card and created a shaped acorn easel card using my Cricut Design Space. (I’ll share the link to my file Here if you’d like to make one too!)
To decorate the acorn card base, I embossed the top layer with an embossing folder from my stash to give it some lovely texture. For the bottom of the acorn, I chose a fun fall print paper that perfectly captures the cozy autumn feel.
As the focal point, I added a Branches Wreath die cut, and inside the wreath, I stamped a Bible verse sentiment, which I heat embossed in dark brown embossing powder for a rich, warm look. Inside the easel portion, I placed a lace sentiment that says “Happy Anniversary” and finished everything off with a few foil leaves for just the right touch of shimmer.
Overall, this was such a fun project to make! The acorn shape, fall colors, and faith-inspired sentiment came together beautifully — a great reminder that shaped cards can be both meaningful and seasonal.
Be sure to visit the My Heart’s Quest Shaped Cards Challenge Blog to see all the amazing creations and maybe join in the fun yourself! 🍁
