Shutter Card Fun | Ally’s Angels Challenge – Anything Goes

Hello crafty friends! I’m back today with my latest Design Team project for Ally’s Angels Challenge Blog, where the theme is always Anything Goes. I love the freedom of these challenges because they let me just play and create whatever I’m inspired by in the moment — and this time, I decided to make something interactive and fun!

For my project, I made a shutter card with a belly band. I’ve been wanting to try this style for a while, and the Effortless Shutter Die Set from Made to Surprise by Sam Calcott made the process so smooth and enjoyable. It truly takes all the measuring and guesswork out of the interactive mechanism so you can just focus on the decorating!

To embellish the card, I reached for some of my favorite coordinating stamps and patterned papers from Craft Consortium. I stamped the images onto kraft cardstock and colored them using my Prismacolor pencils. I just love how colored pencil looks on kraft — it gives such a warm and soft effect, and the colors really pop in such a unique way.

Once everything was colored and die cut, I layered the elements around the shutter mechanism and added the belly band to help the card stay nicely closed when it’s displayed or gifted. The result is a sweet, dimensional card that opens up to reveal a fun surprise inside when the shutter spins open!

I’m really happy with how this card turned out — it has that “cute and cozy” vibe that I adore, and the interactive feature just makes it extra special. 💗

Here are some photos of the finished card:
