Harvest Blessings | Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge
It’s time for another fun round at the Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge, and this time I played along with Column O– Harvest, Copper/Bronze, Free, Shaker or Pocket, and Sequins. I’m excited to share that I managed to incorporate all five elements into my project!
For my card, I created a gatefold design featuring beautiful harvest and autumn elements in rich fall colors. To bring in the copper/bronze prompt, I heat embossed some harvest images from a Stamp Simply set I had tucked away in my stash and layered all my panels with a gorgeous copper foil cardstock mat. The warmth of the metallics really makes the autumn tones pop.
For the “free” space, I lined the inside layers of my card with lace, which adds a soft, textured touch to balance the rich metallic shine.
I decided to go all-in with the shaker/pocket prompt by including both! Inside the gatefold, I built a pocket, and tucked inside is a special shaker bookmark. The bookmark features a Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 9:8 visible through the shaker window, and it’s filled with sequins and large glitter for a sparkling autumn feel. To tie the whole card together, I also glued a few sequins directly to the inside of the card for just a hint of extra shimmer.
To close the gatefold, I added a Velcro latch embossed with the beginning of Ecclesiastes 3:1. The verse is then completed on the pocket panel inside the card – a thoughtful detail that makes this design extra meaningful.
This project was such a joy to put together, combining texture, shimmer, and scripture into one autumn-inspired creation.
Be sure to stop by the Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge Blog to see the other beautiful inspiration pieces from my fellow design team members. I hope you’ll be inspired to grab a column (or row, or diagonal!) and come play along with us this round!
