Go Wild with Jungle-Themed Diorama Card
Hey there, crafty friends!
It’s time for another fun challenge over at Di’s Digital Challenge Blog, and this time the theme is one of my favorites — Die Cuts and Punches! I absolutely love getting creative with layers and textures, so I was super excited to dive into this one. For my card, I created a jungle-themed Diorama card using a mix of new and stashed dies, along with Di’s adorable “Safari Cute” digital image.
I started by coloring the Safari Cute image with my Ohuhu Alcohol Markers, keeping the tones earthy and warm to match the jungle setting I had in mind. Then, I went all in with my die cuts! I recently scored a set of Stamp Anniething dies on clearance — they feature the most perfect jungle leaves in different shapes and sizes, and I knew they’d be ideal for building up a lush, layered background.
I used a mix of patterned papers, embossed cardstock, and several shades of green and brown to add depth and dimension to the Diorama card. It really feels like a peek into the jungle! To bring a little extra whimsy to the scene, I dug into my die stash and found a signpost die and some small letter dies, which I used to create a playful “Go Wild” sentiment. The word "Go" is placed above a large "Wild" die cut, tying everything together in a bold and fun way.
As a finishing touch, I heat embossed the phrase “Hey Party Animal” onto a sentiment strip above the card scene, and added a bright tropical orange flower for that extra pop of color.
I love how all the elements came together — the die cuts, the fun digital image, the vibrant coloring, and the jungle vibes all blended into a card that’s bursting with energy and dimension.
Be sure to hop over to Di’s Digital Challenge Blog and join in the fun — we can’t wait to see what you do with your dies and punches!
Until next time,
Happy Crafting! 🦁🌿🌸
