Take Me Out to the Ball Game – Masculine Easel Card for Ally’s Angels
It’s time for a new “Anything Goes” challenge over at Ally’s Angels, and I had a blast creating this softball-themed card for my Design Team project!
This time, I went sporty with a square easel card that celebrates a very special guy in our life—our dear friend who just turned 81 years young and still plays softball every summer and fall on both over-60 and over-70 teams! Talk about inspiring!
I used a digital stamp from Power Poppy featuring a ball glove and crossed bats. It was the perfect image for this card and came to life beautifully with my Ohuhu Alcohol Markers. I kept the colors bold and classic—just like the game itself.
To give the card an extra “glove-like” touch, I added faux leather stitching detail to all four corners. It’s a subtle nod to the worn-in mitts every ballplayer loves, and it gave the card a unique, tactile finish that I really enjoyed creating.
For a personalized twist, I also created his jersey number “44” using my Cricut machine, layering it over a softball-print background. The number 44 is his favorite and the one he proudly wears on all his jerseys, so it felt just right to include it on the card.
This was genuinely one of the most fun masculine cards I’ve made in a while—and judging by his reaction (an audible “Whoa!” when he opened it), I think it was a home run. ⚾
I hope this card inspires you to try a theme that hits close to home—or home plate! Be sure to check out the challenge and join in the fun at Ally’s Angels Challenge Blog!
Until next time,
Keep crafting with heart—and a little dirt on your cleats!
Nikki: Your fancy fold cards have become deluxe and super-sized masterpieces! This is OUT-STANDING in its field! :) Thanks for being part of Team Angels!
