Christmas in July with Di's "Kiss for Reindeer" Image
Can you believe it’s already mid-July? That means we’re just a few short months away from the holiday season — and what better time to get a head start on Christmas cards! Over at Di’s Digital Designs Challenge Blog, we’re celebrating Christmas in July, and I’m excited to share the sweet and simple card I created for this challenge.
For my project, I used the absolutely adorable “Kiss for Reindeer” image from Di’s Etsy Shop. I colored it up using my Ohuhu Alcohol Markers, bringing those cozy winter tones to life.
Card Details:
To build the card, I reached for a set of layered dies and combined several patterned papers with green cardstock to give it a rich, festive look. I wanted to avoid any stark white edges and add a bit of depth, so I used Distress Inks in coordinating colors to ink all the paper edges — this small step really gives a polished finish and ties the whole palette together.
As a finishing touch, I wrapped a red polka-dotted ribbon around the card like a Christmas gift (because aren’t handmade cards the best kind of present?), then popped on the image and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment.
The result is a clean and charming card that still feels layered and thoughtful. Di’s image takes center stage beautifully, and the ribbon and papers play so nicely with the colors in the illustration.
