Ribbon Magic: A Chilly Bears Winter Card
Hello, crafty friends! It’s time for another fun challenge at My Time To Craft Christmas, and this week, we’re kicking off a five-week series featuring specific craft supplies. For our first week, we’re shining the spotlight on ribbon!
For my Design Team project, I decided to create a card that showcases a variety of ribbons in a fun and creative way. I started by selecting several different strips of ribbon in shades of blue, yellow, and white. These were carefully glued onto a white card base to form a striking striped background. To enhance the design, I mounted the ribbon panel onto a gorgeous holographic paper layer, adding a stunning, shimmery frame that catches the light beautifully.
To add even more dimension, I sewed a strip of white paper across the length of the card, visually splitting the ribbon background in half. This provided the perfect space for my focal image—Three Chilly Bears, a delightful digital stamp from Di’s Digital Designs. I colored these adorable bears with my Ohuhu Markers, bringing them to life with soft shading and wintery tones.
For an extra pop of festive fun, I die-cut snowflakes from the same holographic paper and placed them around the card. To finish them off, I added flat-backed pearls to their centers for a delicate, elegant touch. Finally, to tie everything together, I stamped the sentiment “Bear Hugs” in aquamarine ink, which complements the color scheme perfectly and adds a heartwarming message to this winter card.
I love how this card turned out—the combination of ribbons, shimmer, and adorable bears makes it a perfect way to send warm winter wishes! I hope this inspires you to dive into your ribbon stash and create something wonderful. Be sure to join us at My Time To Craft Christmas and share your own ribbon-inspired creations!
Happy crafting! ✂️🎨✨
