Green with Envy Challenge - Bears in a Teacup Fun Fold Card

Hello, crafty friends!

I'm thrilled to share my latest creation as part of the Design Team for Di's Digital Designs Challenge Blog! This time, the challenge theme is "Green with Envy", where we were encouraged to incorporate the color green into our projects. For this challenge, I chose to make a fun fold card featuring the "Bears in a Teacup" pre-colored image from Di's Etsy Shop.

Design and Process

To make this adorable image pop, I decided on a simple but unique fun fold card. I designed the elements in Cricut Design Space Here's the link to my Design Space file: to ensure precision and a cohesive look. Here’s how I put it together:

  • I started with a 5 x 7 card base, cutting the front panel in half to create a fun fold effect.

  • large circle with a doily was attached halfway onto the front panel, adding a focal point to frame the sweet tea cup bears.

  • The inside of the card is layered with white embossed cardstock, which subtly peeks through the top of the circle, adding dimension and texture.

  • To match the "Green with Envy" theme, I layered the half-front panel and the circle with various green patterned papers for a cohesive look.

  • The sentiment, "Taste and see that the Lord is Good" (Psalm 34:8), comes from a stamp set by Stamp Simply. I thought this sentiment complemented the cozy tea cup bears perfectly.

  • Finally, I added two small roses in green and tan to bring in a little extra depth without overpowering the design.

Final Thoughts

I absolutely loved creating this card! The fun fold design added a unique touch while still keeping the focus on Di’s beautifully illustrated image. The combination of embossed textures, layered papers, and delicate embellishments made this project such a joy to put together. I hope it inspires you to join in on this week’s "Green with Envy" Challenge over at Di’s Digital Designs Challenge Blog!

Happy crafting,
