PolarBear Faux Stepper Card - MTTCC #88 Northern Lights
I'm thrilled to present another delightful creation as part of my contribution to the MTTCC Blog Design Team. This week, our focus is on the mesmerizing beauty of the Northern Lights. Inspired by this enchanting natural phenomenon, I set out to craft a faux stepper card using a custom SVG template. My vision was to capture a serene winter scene, complete with polar bears gazing toward the dancing hues of the Aurora Borealis.
Since I lacked specific papers featuring the Northern Lights, I decided to embark on a creative journey by crafting my own using Distress Oxides. Despite being my first attempt at recreating this celestial spectacle with Distress Oxides, I found the process both challenging and rewarding. Achieving the perfect blend required time, but the end result was worth it. To enhance the look, I added a touch of water to distress the oxides, followed by a sprinkling of glitter to mimic the twinkling stars in the night sky.
For the focal point of my card, I selected a charming image from Di's Digital Designs, which I lovingly colored using Ohuhu Markers. This image served as the centerpiece, elegantly mounted on the front panel of my stepper card. For those curious about replicating this design, I invite you to explore the SVG template available in my Etsy Shop or utilize the instructional resources on YouTube.
It is my sincere hope that this post ignites your own creativity and inspires you to participate in the Northern Lights Challenge hosted by MTTCC. Let's embark on this artistic journey together, celebrating the magic of nature's most captivating light show.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my creative process. Now, go forth and create something truly beautiful!
