Snowflake Shaped Easel Card – Guest Designer Project for My Hearts Quest for Shaped Cards
I’m so excited to share my latest project as a Guest Designer for the My Hearts Quest for Shaped Cards Challenge Blog! I was honored when I was invited back for a second month, and since December is finally here—and we just enjoyed our first snowfall of the season—it felt like the perfect time to create something snowy and magical.
For this challenge, I decided to make a snowflake-shaped easel card. I found a beautiful layered snowflake SVG on Creative Fabrica and imported it into Cricut Design Space. After a bit of tweaking and reorganizing the layers, I was able to turn it into a functional easel-style card base. I always love when an SVG sparks an idea, and this one came together even better than I hoped!
For the inside of the card, I wanted a snowflake pattern that matched the layered design on the front. Instead of searching through my paper stash, I decided to create my own patterned paper. I pulled out my Distress Oxides, some Expanding Mousse, and a snowflake stencil. A little blending, a little texture, and I had a soft, frosty background that coordinated perfectly with the card front.
Overall, this was such a fun card to make. I love shaped cards because they’re always a little unexpected and extra special. I hope my snowy easel card inspires you to try your hand at a unique shape and join in with this month’s challenge. I can’t wait to see what you create!
