Winter Holiday Fun with Di's Digi Designs – Easel Card Inspiration

 Hello, crafty friends! πŸŽ„❄️

It's that wonderful time of year again when the chilly air and cozy vibes inspire us to create all sorts of festive projects. As a member of the Design Team for Di’s Digi Designs Challenge Blog, I’m thrilled to share my latest creation for this week’s challenge theme – Winter Holiday.

For this challenge, I wanted to showcase the Hot Chocolate and Cookies Christmas Mice pre-colored digital stamp from Di's Etsy store, and I think it’s the perfect choice to bring some holiday cheer to my card. The adorable little mice, paired with their festive treat, just screamed for a warm and cozy design.

Designing the Card:

For this card, I decided to go with an Easel Card layout, which is always a fun and interactive style. Easel cards are great because they fold flat for easy mailing but can be propped up for display, which adds an extra touch of charm to your creations. It’s always nice to make something that not only looks good but can also be displayed on a mantel or desk, bringing joy to the recipient long after the card is given.

The Hot Chocolate and Cookies Christmas Mice image was the perfect focal point for my card. Since I used the pre-colored version, a lot of the work was already done for me! The soft colors and sweet details on the mice and their treats made me want to build a cozy, vintage-inspired background.

Layering with Old-Fashioned Patterned Paper:

For the background, I pulled out some old-fashioned patterned paper that gave the card a nostalgic feel, reminiscent of vintage holiday postcards. Think muted reds, greens, and a hint of gold—those classic colors that make you think of warm holiday gatherings. I layered these papers with varying textures and widths to create depth, while still keeping everything balanced.

I used a mix of plaid and dotted designs for that timeless, cozy charm, and I made sure to distress ink the edges of each paper layer to give it a slightly worn, "lived-in" look. It’s all about creating that warm, inviting atmosphere that the holidays bring.

A Festive Touch for Your Holiday Cards

I love how this Easel Card turned out, and I hope it gives you some inspiration for your own holiday crafting. Whether you’re sending out cards, gifts, or just looking to add a personal touch to your home decor, this card layout is both fun and functional.

I encourage you to join in the Winter Holiday challenge at Di's Digi Designs Challenge Blog this week! There’s still time to enter, and we’d love to see what you create with your favorite holiday-themed images.
