Sweet Treats and Crafty Creations: My Diamond Step-Up Card for the My Time To Craft Christmas Challenge

Hello, crafty friends!

I’m beyond excited to be here today sharing a card I created for the My Time To Craft Christmas Challenge. This time, I’ve had the honor of suggesting the theme for the challenge, and I chose “Sweet Treats.” It seemed like the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and celebrate all those delicious goodies that make Christmas so special!

To give you a little inspiration, I’ve created a Diamond Step-Up Card, featuring the sweetest little gingerbread image and Candy Christmas paper collection from Craft Consortium. If you’ve never tried a Diamond Step-Up card before, you're in for a treat! It’s a fun, interactive design that creates a beautiful layered effect—perfect for showcasing all the sweet little details of the theme. Plus, I got the idea from the lovely Mixed Up Craft blog, which always has such creative ideas.

The Sweet Details of My Card

This card features a charming gingerbread man image, which is the star of the show. The gingerbread design was fussy cut from the Candy Christmas toppers set. Who doesn’t love a cute little gingerbread friend? The Candy Christmas Craft Consortium paper pad I used is just as delightful, with a mix of traditional Christmas colors and patterns, including some whimsical sweets that tie perfectly into the “Sweet Treats” theme.

The Diamond Step-Up Card itself is made using a simple template that folds in a way that creates steps, allowing you to layer different elements and give the card depth and dimension. It’s an eye-catching design that’s always sure to impress! The paper pad has some really lovely patterns, so I used a few of them to create the different steps and add some visual interest. The layers are built up with varying sizes, and it gives the whole card such a fun 3D effect.

I added some extra touches like peppermint accents and enamel dots to make the card sparkle like sugar on top of a holiday treat! An embossed solid paper finished off the look, making it all come together in a cozy, festive way.
