Bunny in the Garden – A Sweet Hammock Card for Ally’s Angels

Today I’m sharing a sweet spring birthday card for the new challenge over at the Ally's Angels Challenge Blog! As always, our theme is Anything Goes, so it’s the perfect opportunity to create whatever inspires you.

For this card I decided to try a Hammock Card style. I love interactive or dimensional card bases, and this one creates such a fun little scene in the center. The panels fold out to reveal the “hammock” section that holds the focal image, giving the card a lot of depth while still folding flat for mailing.

My focal image is a retired digital stamp from Di's Digital Designs. I’ve always loved the sweet animals in Di’s illustrations, and this little bunny surrounded by spring flowers felt perfect for a soft birthday card. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, building up layers for gentle shading on the bunny’s fur and the daffodils.

To frame the scene, I created a little garden setting using a white picket fence die along with several layered flower diesand leafy branches. I kept the color palette soft and spring-like with pale pink embossed panels, light yellow accents, and pearls for a bit of texture and dimension. The tiny bunny silhouettes on the sides add a playful finishing touch.

The striped background behind the bunny helps draw your eye to the center hammock panel, while the dimensional flowers and fence give the card a cozy garden feel. I finished everything off with a simple Happy Birthday sentiment tag.

I hope this project inspires you to join us in the Anything Goes challenge this week! Be sure to visit the Ally's Angels Challenge Blog to see all the beautiful inspiration from the design team and link up your own creation.

Happy crafting!
