Accordion Fan Box Anniversary Card | Christmas (or Not) Bingo Challenge DT Inspiration
For my latest Design Team project for the Christmas (or Not) Bingo Challenge, I decided to create something a little different and interactive. This time I chose Column G on the bingo board, which includes: Weddings/Anniversaries, Silver or Gold, Free Space, Ribbon, and Image of a Couple.
With those elements in mind, I created a beautiful Anniversary Accordion Fan Box Card inspired by a tutorial from Sam Calcott at Mixed Up Craft. You can watch her tutorial here:

This style of card is such a showstopper! The accordion fan design creates a dramatic backdrop that really lets the focal images shine. To build the fan, I used some gorgeous patterned paper that I received in my Christmas stocking from my in-laws. The warm tones in the paper paired perfectly with the gold foil cardstock, which helped me incorporate the Silver or Gold element from the bingo column.
For the decorative elements, I stamped and colored several floral images from Mixed Up Craft flower stamp sets and layered them around the design. The flowers add softness and help frame the focal point of the card.
Speaking of the focal point, I used a lovely stamp of an older couple walking together that I’ve had in my stash for several years. It originally came from one of the Creative Stamping magazine issues, and I thought it was perfect for an anniversary card. I love the sweetness of the image—it really captures the feeling of love that grows over time.
To finish the design, I added a Happy Anniversary sentiment across the fan and included embellishments to meet the rest of the bingo column requirements, including ribbon and layered elements for extra texture and dimension.
Because this card design does not fold flat, I also created a coordinating handmade gift bag to hold the card when gifting it. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the bag before wrapping everything up, but it made a lovely presentation for the finished card.
This was such a fun project to make, and I love how elegant and dimensional the finished card turned out. The fan design really gives the card a special “wow” factor that makes it perfect for celebrating an anniversary.
Be sure to stop by the Christmas (or Not) Bingo Challenge Blog to see all the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team and to join in the challenge yourself. There are so many creative ways to use the bingo board, and it’s always exciting to see what everyone comes up with!
Happy crafting!
