Celebrating 100 Posts with a Red & Silver Christmas Shaker Card!
Hello, crafty friends!
I’m thrilled to be celebrating the 100th blog post for the My Time To Craft Christmas Blog Challenge, and even more excited to share the festive creation I’ve made for this special occasion! The theme for this challenge is Red and Silver Christmas cards, and I decided to create something a little different: a tall, slimline shaker card that’s packed with Christmas cheer.
The Design
For this card, I wanted to focus on both the color scheme of red and silver, while adding a playful, interactive element. So, I chose to design a shaker card with fun “Ho, Ho, Ho” windows that would bring some extra sparkle to the holiday season!
I started by using Adobe Illustrator to create the shaker element. The phrase “Ho, Ho, Ho” was turned into a series of shaker windows, filled with a mix of red and white shaker elements that mimic the feel of jolly Christmas spirit. These elements will eventually be available as an SVG file in my Etsy shop for those who want to recreate this card design themselves — so keep an eye out for that!
Adding Festive Flair
The shaker windows are set against a backdrop of candy cane patterned paper, which adds a classic touch of holiday magic. The red and white stripes complement the shaker elements perfectly, creating a lively, joyful feel. The candy cane pattern also ties in wonderfully with the “Ho, Ho, Ho” theme — it’s as if Santa himself is sending holiday cheer straight to your mailbox!
The Shaker Fun
Shaker cards are always a crowd-pleaser, and this one is no exception. The movement of the red and white shaker elements inside the windows really brings this card to life! Every time the card is shaken, it’s like a little Christmas party inside the card — and I’m sure it’ll make anyone who receives it smile. The combination of the red, white, and silver elements really captures that magical, festive spirit we all love during the holiday season.
A Personal Touch
One of the things I love most about crafting is the opportunity to make something unique, and this shaker card feels especially personal. Not only is it filled with the fun of holiday colors and shapes, but it also marks a special milestone for the My Time To Craft Christmas Blog Challenge. As a crafter, it’s always exciting to be part of such a wonderful community and to share ideas with fellow creators. Here's to 100 posts — and many more to come!
Stay Tuned
If you’re interested in recreating this shaker card, I’ll be releasing the Ho, Ho, Ho shaker element SVG file in my Etsy shop soon. So, stay tuned for that — and in the meantime, I hope this card has inspired you to get crafting for the holidays!
Thanks so much for stopping by and celebrating this milestone with me. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and happy crafting!
