Christmas or Not Bingo – Column O Inspiration πΈπ°
It’s time for another fun challenge over at the Christmas or Not Bingo Challenge Blog, and this time I’m sharing my Design Team inspiration using Column O on the bingo card!
Easter/Spring
Frame
Distress Ink or Tool
Free
Vellum or Foil
I decided to lean fully into spring and created a 6x6 card featuring the adorable (and slightly grumpy!) Unity Stamping Company stamp set Delightfully Feral. This little bunny has the best unimpressed expression, and I just couldn’t resist him!
I stamped the bunny onto watercolor paper and painted him using watercolors. I love how watercoloring gives such a soft, organic feel — perfect for spring — even when your bunny looks like he’d rather still be napping. π
For the frame element, I used one of my fancy layering dies to create the outer frame. Then I cut a cross shape in the center with my craft knife and carefully tore out the inner section using my fingers and a distressing tool. I coated the torn edges with distress ink to really emphasize the texture and give it that slightly rustic, worn look. The inky edges add so much depth and dimension!
To incorporate vellum, I stamped the sentiment onto vellum using pigment ink and made sure to let it dry completely before handling it (no smudging allowed!). The soft translucency of the vellum helps the sentiment stand out without covering up too much of that grumpy little face.
For the “Free” element, I added pearls to draw the eye toward the sentiment and give the card just a touch of elegance and balance. I love how the softness of the pearls contrasts with the distressed frame and the bunny’s feisty personality.
I think the cheerful spring colors paired with this grumpy bunny make for such a fun and playful seasonal card. Sometimes spring doesn’t feel all sunshine and flowers — and this little guy totally captures that mood!
I hope this card inspires you to grab your supplies and play along with us. Be sure to check out the challenge, pick your column (or row, or diagonal!), and create something fun. We can’t wait to see what you make!
Happy crafting! π✨
